Sims Brothers Recycling appoints Nick Van Meter as Maintenance Manager

MARION, Ohio (December 2, 2013) — Nick Van Meter has been named as Maintenance Manager at Sims Brothers Recycling. The announcement was made by Gary Sims, president and CEO.

Van Meter is responsible for maintaining and servicing the recycling company's private fleet of over 1,000 pieces of equipment including trucks, trailers, balers, cranes and custom-designed 15 thru 70-yard containers, lugger boxes and in-plant hoppers. 10 Sims Brothers teammates work in the firm's five-bay service garage and separate weld shop, and report to Van Meter. He reports to his father-in-law, Gary Sims, president and CEO.

"Sims Brothers Recycling is a family business, and I'm delighted to have my son-in-law Nick join the company in such a critical position," said Sims. "He brings a strong mechanical aptitude for equipment service, which blends well with his financial training. Nick is a team player and a great advantage to the company."

Van Meter graduated from Capital University in 2012 with a degree in Financial Economics.  He resides with his wife, Chelsea, in Marion.

With four locations, Sims Brothers Recycling is Central Ohio's fastest growing recycling company for households, farms, businesses and industries. Headquartered in Marion, Ohio, the firm buys, accepts, transports, processes, brokers and sells all types of recyclable products including scrap iron and steel, nonferrous metals, cardboard, newspaper, high grade paper, plastics, electronic scrap and glass.
